You are the expert on your life and know yourself better than anyone else. This makes you the best judge of what is right or wrong, or good or bad, for you. My role is to help reach a point where you no longer need my assistance and to address the problems that brought you to therapy. I'm not here to judge your actions but to assist in creating clarity or a change in perspective. During our time together, I aim to equip you with skills, tools, or new perspectives that you can apply to your current situation or adapt to future challenges.
I'm a Certified Clinical Counsellor with 25 years in mental health and 14 years as a therapist. I've worked in Calgary, Victoria, British Columbia, and Dublin, Ireland, helping kids, teens, adults, families, and couples. My experience has shown me how people can bounce back and grow, which I find meaningful. I help with challenges like ADHD, Autism, managing emotions, communication, and relationship problems. I use methods like CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, and strength-based approaches.
I chose the Arbutus tree to symbolize my practice because it is resilient and thrives in challenging conditions. When stressed, the Arbutus renews itself by shedding its bark and growing stronger. I aim to help you recognize your strengths and resilience in the same way.
I offer a free initial 15 to 20-minute phone call to discuss your concerns and explain how I work with clients. This call gives you a chance to see if we are a good fit. Self-exploration can be challenging, but my role is to help you do it in a safe and comfortable manner.
Thank you for visiting my site. I hope to offer you the support you need.
