My Story

You are the expert on your own life, and that makes you the best judge of what you need. My role as your therapist is to support you in navigating the challenges that brought you to therapy, helping you build clarity, confidence, and long-term tools so that eventually, you won’t need me anymore. I’m not here to judge. I’m here to offer support, perspective, and guidance tailored to your unique story.

I’m a Certified Clinical Counsellor with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field and 14 years as a therapist. I’ve worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families in Calgary, Victoria, and Dublin, Ireland. My approach is grounded in the belief that people are incredibly resilient, and with the right support, they can heal and grow.

I specialize in supporting individuals with ADHD, Autism, emotional regulation difficulties, communication challenges, and relationship issues. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, and strength-based counselling to meet each client where they are.

The Arbutus tree, which inspires my practice name, is a symbol of resilience and renewal. Just as the Arbutus sheds its bark to grow stronger, therapy can be a process of letting go, gaining insight, and emerging with new strength.

I offer a free 15–20 minute phone consultation so we can talk about your concerns and see if we’re a good fit. Reaching out for support isn’t always easy, but therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating. I’m here to walk beside you, offering a calm, safe, and compassionate space.

Thank you for visiting Arbutus Counselling. I look forward to connecting with you.
